The Springbok, also known as the springbuck. With origins tracing back to the arid plains of southern and southwestern Africa, Texas ranches like Buck Horn Ranch are critical to the preservation of this species. The Springbok features a pale to rich cinnamon brown coat with extensive white markings on the head, ears, underparts, rump, and tail, accented by a black side stripe, and both males and females have curved, lyre-shaped horns that can grow up to 16 inches in length.
